Well what are we up to now?

BBQ Hut - through the flowers              First cycling family customers

We've decided to shunt the 380M further down the yard to make more use of the potential for a decent public area. Although the grassed area is certainly large enough for the bouncy castle with room to spare we're re jigging and still finalising our plans for phase two. At this juncture we felt it would be beneficial and more attractive to all visitors to introduce a semi sheltered covered barbecue area to allow group alfresco get togethers.

We have recently constructed a Kota style barbecue hut to our own design with seating and tables, outdoor lighting and further planting. We've now added a Buschbeck barbecue for visitors.  Should come in very useful - and is now fully ready for guests use. Cyclists a welcome rest

The little old building being the former weigh bridge office has been transformed into a reception unit complete with ice lollies and drinks etc. We also man our recently available cycle hire from here and have recently taken delivery of two Penny Farthings and a tandem!!

We have now received delivery of all our cycles and have worked hard to make these available to visitors.

A big thank you to Kingston Cycles for all their efforts.

It wasn't just a question of buying cycles, there's been a lot of boring documentation to carry out!! We have towalongs, tagalongs, kiddies' seats and all the paraphernalia to make the experience safe and enjoyable. Cycle hire prices are now published. HERE

Sir Peter Tapsell visited us during National Bike Week - what a charming character he turned out to be!!

We had our very own slot on BBC Look North recently, interviewed and filmed by Simon Spark. Word is getting out of our unique accommodation, attractive surroundings and creative venture!!

We also had full front page coverage in The Cleethorpes Chronicle alongside Rhubarb & Custard with our plans to convert the 380M into a sleeping accommodation for 6. Plans for Rhubarb & Custard can be viewed via PDF here.

From this to this!!

12 berth sleeper 380M to be transformed into luxury 6 berth accommodation

U.F.O's in Lincolnshire!!??

The wind turbines at Conisholme have been in the national news recently.  There is much speculation surrounding the peculiar damage in which one of the turbines lost a full propeller.  Could it even have been a U.F.O !!!!  Has it disappeared into the far reaches of The Milky Way...........

Well all talk is the credit crunch at the moment.  The world is poised to move into recession and all is doom & gloom.  Sterling has taken a hammering on the foreign currency exchange and the English pound has been devalued dramatically.  All the more reason to take a break at The Old Station Yard!!

The major airlines are doing all U.K based leisure businesses a real favour this year. Having experienced the new 'no frills' approach first hand, air flight is becoming more uncomfortable and troublesome year on year. No food, little in the way of drinks and the service!!  Awful to say the least. The increasing trauma of all the various queues and the red tape nowadays... it'll be sunny England for me the next time I get the chance for a holiday!!

As we look forward to record breaking 2009 - 2010 seasons year on year we recommend those visitors looking for guaranteed dates book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

The Old Station Yard is maturing nicely now and is becoming a real retreat for those of you looking for something a little different.
